How Doppler designed, manufactured and delivered two lifts: a firefighters’ lift and a 2,000 kg passenger & goods lift for a demanding industrial facility.

Located in Ioannina, the PINDOS S.A. feed mill is a critical link in the company’s production chain. In an environment where safety and uninterrupted operation are essential, the vertical transportation of people and goods must be reliable and capable of withstanding heavy-duty use.

The Challenge Behind the Installation

The project called for more than a standard installation: a firefighters’ lift with a travel distance of 32 metres, alongside a passenger and goods lift capable of carrying 2,000 kg over a travel distance of 28.5 metres.The main challenge lay in the lift shaft itself. Its walls were coated with fire-resistant paint, which ruled out welding. As a result, every fixing point had to be carefully planned and drilled with precision.At the same time, the considerable weight of the components and the height of the lift travel required specialised lifting solutions and meticulous planning at every stage of the installation.

An Engineering Solution Within Constraints

In collaboration with BAKOLAS ELEVATORS, Doppler supplied a two-lift system tailored to the specific requirements of the project.The FOCUS model was selected for the firefighters’ lift, while the ECO2 model was chosen for passenger and goods transportation. Both lifts are equipped with the DLC2 control panel.The ECO2’s robust car frame, designed to support a load of up to 2,000 kg, stood out as a key feature during installation.
